Travelers Get Insurance Boost in Malaysia.

Tuesday September 9, 2008

AIG policy holders can breathe a little easier when in Malaysia – the insurance company has opened its first Asia Travel Assist Center in Kuala Lumpur to provide 24-hour emergency and travel services to its customers (“AIG Opens First Asia Travel Assist Center in Kuala Lumpur”).

It’s the fifth AIG Travel Assist Center in the world, ready to help policy holders in Malaysia recover lost passports, find medical aid, and make hotel reservations. There’s a strong demand for its services - AIG Travel Assist racked up over 1,100 medical evacuations in 2007 alone, as well as over 10,500 medical management cases.

The robust demand for AIG’s services underscores the urgent need for travelers to get appropriate coverage while in Southeast Asia. Fear not, our article on travel insurance in Southeast Asia covers the basics.
