First new mall in 10 years opens - Orchard Central. Towering over Somerset MRT, Orchard Central opens its doors to the public this month, and promises to wow a jaded shopping audience with new attractions. A 24-hour public rooftop garden will showcase cutting-edge Singapore artwork, and house a Discovery Walk with a light and sound show. The multicolored lights on the membrane façade and the stunning views from the verandah dining areas are mere preludes, of course, to the magnificent Singapore shopping experience you can only expect from the retail-mad island-state.

Runs from August 19 to September 30. For more details, check out the National Arts Council of Singapore website.
