Royal Plaza on Scotts' Carousel: Go Hunting for Eight Treasures.
The Royal Plaza on Scotts' Carousel Restaurant introduces an Eight Treasures Lobster Yu Sheng: a base of fresh lobster and ginseng meets the "eight treasures" of almonds, ginseng, longans, red dates, salsify, silver fungus, wolfberries and angular solomon's seal, to create an interesting interplay of flavor and color.
Wolfberries and longans add a sweet topnote, while the crunchiness of the salsify, silver fungus and almonds enhances the dish's texture. The red dates are served as gelatinous strips, a more palatable and visually attractive alternative to the real thing. Finally, a specially-concocted sauce blend of mango and passion fruit completes the feast.
Chinese traditional medicine holds the eight treasures to have significant beneficial effects on the body. Whether you try the Eight Treasures for your health or for your wealth, the important thing is to try, preferably with your most near and dear in attendance. The Eight Treasures Lobster Yu Sheng goes for SGD 150 for four to six persons, and $180 for eight to ten persons. This feast is available from January 16 to February 6.

Hilton Singapore: A Yu Sheng with Heaps of Good Fortune and More.
The Hilton Singapore's Chinese Chef Aw Yeung has composed a series of banquet menus for Chinese New Year, and outdid himself with a Hilton Fortune Treasure Yu Sheng that any fortune-hungry family will appreciate.
Presented as a rainbow mélange of cucumbers, radish and carrot, all rimmed with crunchy golden flakes, this Yusheng creation comes with a beautifully arranged "win" ideogram on top. The Yu Sheng's other ingredients include a surfeit of seafood goodies: ocean scallops, abalone, fresh lobster, tuna and salmon topped with luxurious gold leaves and black truffle. Bird's nest and specially imported Korean ginseng finish off the ingredient list, and you're ready to toss your way to good luck in the year to come.
If you want more, try some of the Checkers Deli's take-home treats:

The Prosperity Pineapple Tart combines a traditional tart base, a pineapple filling and lime jelly, and a topping of meringue, coin-shaped white chocolates, fortune carp, and mandarin oranges.
- Golden Pumpkin Mousse Cake - SGD 88, 1kg. This pumpkin-shaped pastry offers a brownie base layered with raspberry jelly and pumpkin mousse and embellished with praline bits.
