The malodorous durian fruit is something you either love or hate (for the record, your guide LOOOOOOOVES the stuff), so durian lovers will definitely go nuts over Tourism Malaysia Penang's "Durian Packages". Lasting all month from now till July 31, this year's Durian Campaign marks the third time it's been held since 2010.

The promotion takes place every day at the hotel Naza Talyya Penang (compare rates) from 4pm to 8pm. It's simple, really: you'll choose from a number of durian packages, ranging from a one-time "durian buffet" costing MYR 55 per head (about $17) and featuring more than 15 durian-based dishes and beverages, to a 3-day/2-night Durian & Heritage Tour Package costing MYR 335 per head (or about $105).

In addition, all package buyers get a chance to win return tickets to Hong Kong or Bandung, Indonesia courtesy of AirAsia.

Last year's Durian Packages promotion sold a total of MYR 82,500 worth of durian packages, covering 150 rooms with 300 guests, and another 600 walk-in visitors. Interestingly enough, this is one of the very few times you'll be allowed to enjoy durian at a hotel (most hotels across the region have a strict no-durian policy), so if I were you, I'd jump at the chance.
