This January, Park Hyatt Saigon (compare rates|buy direct) takes select guests through an evening food tour through Ho Chi Minh City's off-the-beaten-path dining spots. "A Culinary Thoroughfare" by Vespa, part of the Park Hyatt Masters series of events, continues the Park Hyatt's tradition of conducting interactive culinary and beverage experiences that allow their guests to get a hands-on feel of the local culture.
"A Culinary Thoroughfare" introduces guests to Chef Soren Lascelles of Square One, who will escort a small group through Saigon's side streets to experience traditional and savory Southern Vietnamese specialties such as the French-inspired Vietnamese crepe Banh Xeo, the national noodle dish Pho, and the celebrated Banh Mi sandwich.
The tour will cover three out-of-the-way eateries before concluding at an ethnic beer garden to taste locally brewed beers.
"A Culinary Thoroughfare" by Vespa kicks off on January 18, 2013, taking place from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The tour is priced at VND 2,500,000 per person (or about US$120), plus 5% service charge and 10% government tax.
