Leading up to the Chinese New Year festival, all 300 boutiques and restaurants at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands will maintain usual operating hours during Chinese New Year, from 10am to 11pm on Sundays to Thursdays, and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Over 70 of the Shoppes' retailers will offer deals and discounts of up to 50 per cent.

- DeGem jewelry offers 40 percent off its intricate jade pieces from January 17 to February 24.
- JiXiang Zhai, a boutique carrying Eastern-inspired ladies' apparel, offers a complimentary glass teapot worth SGD 48 with a minimum nett purchase worth SGD 488, from January 10 to February 15.
- Shoes and accessories labels Nine West and Steve Madden both offer 50 percent off selected merchandise from February 1 to 28.

What to Expect During Chinese New Year at the Marina Bay Sands
The celebrations rise to a fever pitch as Chinese New Year arrives. Marina Bay Sands will drum up the New Year atmosphere property-wide on the first day of Chinese New Year. On February 10, lively lion dance performances will roam the property, and entertainment will grace the halls of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
The Sands SkyPark and Event Plaza will be prime vantage points for the splendid fireworks display by the River Hong Bao (RHB) 2013. The annual festive celebration, located on The Float at Marina Bay, will launch a spectacular fireworks display between 7:30pm to 8:30pm on February 8, as well as on February 9 just before midnight.
For the first two days of Chinese New Year (February 10 & 11, 2013), the first 88 shoppers who spend SGD 188 will receive an additional SGD 80 worth of shopping vouchers. Redemption counter is at Promenade South Level 1 concierge near Carnivore Brazilian Churrascaria.
Tasty Chinese New Year Treats at Marina Bay Sands Restaurants
Not to be left out, Marina Bay Sands' restaurants are also providing special deals for the Lunar New Year:
Celebrity chef Guy Savoy offers a special six- course Kraemer's Dragon Menu (download menu - PDF) to bid goodbye to the Year of the Dragon, for SGD 250++ per person, from now until February 28, 2013.
The Dragon Menu coincides with The Final 100 Days of the Year of the Dragon exhibition, a showcase of rare, original XVIIIth century, museum-quality furniture and decorative arts from the famed Kraemer Gallery Collections, based in Paris since 1875.The exhibition pays homage to both the Chinese and French civilizations in all their splendor, and is displayed at the Marina Bay Sands hotel lobby until February 8, 2013.
Jin Shan presents seven different dinner set menus that showcase the best of Cantonese, Hunan and Szechuan flavors. Au Chocolat, a French inspired confiserie (confectionery) and bistro, serves a special all-day four-course Chinese New Year menu from SGD 48++ from January 14 until February 28. Festive Almond Macarons filled with Candied Kumquat Ganache and Preserves will be sold at SweetSpot, priced at SGD 2.70 each. ArtScience Museum Rings in the Chinese New Year
For Chinese New Year, visitors to ArtScience Museum can take in three exceptional exhibitions: The Art of The Brick, Fujians: The Blue Ocean Legacy and Outside In: A Magnum Photos Showcase.
Visitors can also venture into complimentary activities at the museum. At the Fujians: The Blue Ocean Legacy exhibition, visitors may create their own Fujian coin or ceramicware every Sunday until February 28. Admission to this workshop is free for ticketholders to Fujians: The Blue Ocean Legacy exhibition.
The workshop happens every Sunday until February 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children above the age of six will have to be accompanied by an adult.
As part of Outside In: A Magnum Photos Showcase, participants can learn to create photographic images without a camera. They will also gain insight from a professional photographer on how to enlarge and develop black and white photos in a darkroom setting through two hands-on workshops - the ArtScience of Photography and Darkroom Developments.
