If you want to know where to eat the best seafood in Bali, you’ll be told to go to Jimbaran Bay, immediately south of the airport. This two-mile stretch of beach is a favored fisherman’s haunt, and by late afternoon, tables, chairs and tiki lights are set up on the sand for Jimbaran Bay's famous beach-dining scene.
It’s easy to understand why Jimbaran’s seafood eats are so popular. The road leading to and from Pura Luhur Uluwatu runs right next to Jimbaran Bay in South Bali, and many tour guides plan a visit to the beach restaurants immediately after watching the temple kecak performances. The close access to Kuta, Legian, Nusa Dua and other South Bali attractions doesn’t hurt, either.
The food served along Jimbaran Bay also happens to be the freshest on the island: the fishermen who unload their catch here every day make sure of that! Whether you’re after some spicy ikan bakar, or splurging on some fresh lobster, you’ll be eating seafood prepared and cooked Bali style in a wonderfully romantic setting on the beach, lit only by candles and the light of the moon.
