The roof is supported by a Japanese-style triple-beam arrangement. The symbolism of this architectural touch is significant: heaven, earth, and the people are represented via each of the three beams.

The wooden columns holding up the beams rest on marble bases. The "crab-shelled" ceiling curves upward, while the ceramic tile roofs are equally competent against the heat of the summers and the punishment of the monsoons.
