Penang's Old City Hall on Jalan Padang Kota Lama was built in 1903, and represents Neo-classical architecture at its height in Southeast Asia. It is still used to this day by Georgetown's 24 municipal councilors, who meet in the Council Chamber on the Ground Floor.
A small Cenotaph on the grounds commemorates the victims of the First World War.
