The Myanmar Recovery Effort in Pictures

By , About.com Guide

Cyclone Nargis may have killed over 100,000 people last week in Myanmar – for those who were left behind, the task of picking up after the cyclone remains. They're not alone, as international aid agencies are attempting to push aid into Myanmar despite the worst efforts of the military regime.

The government has been extremely reluctant to let aid through, holding back visas from aid workers waiting to be deployed. The United Nations fears that, if government inaction continues, more people could join the 100,000 who were killed by the storm.

International aid agencies are currently soliciting donations for Myanmar. A complete list of agencies and links to their donation pages can be found here: Charities in Myanmar.
