The Singapore Flyer is a huge observation wheel located in Singapore, for now the world's largest at 42 storeys high and 492 feet in diameter, beating the London Eye by 30 meters.
28 air-conditioned capsules on the Flyer can take up to 28 riders each - each capsule is the size of a bus, and offers a vibration-free 30 minute ride with unobstructed views of the surrounding island-state, as well as glimpses of neighboring countries Indonesia and Malaysia.
The Singapore Flyer started spinning on February 11, 2008, with a soft launch on March 1. The rotational direction is dictated by feng shui - it had previously been spinning in the opposite direction until it was deemed inauspicious.
