Kamala Beach stretches two and a half miles inside Kamala Bay. The mood on Kamala is far more relaxed and laid-back - ideal for visitors looking to leave the party atmosphere behind just to relax and enjoy the sun and sea. The tourist industry is still present here, just not as in-your-face compared to Patong - you'll find food stalls, hotels, and guesthouses all ready to serve you along the road leading to the beach.
Close to Kamala Beach, you can go to Phuket FantaSea, a carnival-like night-time "theme park". You can also climb Khao Phanthurat to get a bird's-eye view of the bay's gentle curves.
Kamala Beach is about fifteen miles from Phuket City, close enough to ride a Songthaew or a tuk-tuk there.
