Attractions Inside Vietnam's Biggest City

By , About.com Guide

It's Ho Chi Minh City to officials, and Saigon to tourists and residents. Saigon is still the name of the central District One; this central area hosts many of the city's hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions.

But you'll be sorry if you stay put inside District One; this former capital of South Vietnam has so much more to offer. The energy and business smarts of Saigon citizens is legendary in their own country, and the city has remade itself to welcome tourists with wide-open arms.

These images from the streets of Saigon - er, Ho Chi Minh City - should give you a foretaste of what to expect once you make your way in.
